CUPE Youth: We Won’t Wait!

Members of the young workers' committee - all in blue-shirts - drew the attention of the 45th CUPE Saskatchewan Annual Convention which was held in Saskatoon 9-12 March 2010. “We Won’t Wait!" is the Campaign that has just recently been launched to help young workers - aged less than 30 years old - find their place in their union. At this year’s convention, they submitted a resolution to ensure the support and commitment, as part of its larger strategy, of the union to the CUPE Saskatchewan Young Worker’s Committee in order to improve the participation of young workers in the trade union movement. As part of the campaign, the committee has also launched a short documentary video about the importance of unions to young workers.
