Lopez-Obrador was consciously defeated by the influence behind the scenes of US imperialism . Obrador was favorable to initiating major trade deals with the Chinese imperialists The US Wall Street crowd did not want Chinese influence , which is already growing in South America and the Caribbean to be sprouting up in their backyard. There is nothing positive to be gained by backing one imperialist over another by workers. Obrador is not an enemy of capitalism in any way. This is
a diversion. Meanwhile the real class struggle was going on in Oaxaca, where 5000 teachers and and other workers rescued one of the leaders of the independent teachers union there from thugs from the national-boss controlled union. The leader would have been murdered if not rescued. This event occurred on very short notice and was accomplished by key organizers of the Progressive Labor Party in that union. This real class struggle: imperialist election rivalries is bourgeois struggle.
