the only way to fight the destructive forces is unite the entire working class, educate, and agitate until we succeed .
i would like to know about the kind of working structure in your country and to which extent is the trade union instrumental in decision making policies.
thanks a lot for your response. i was totally in awe when i knew our union AIIEA [ ALL INDIA INSURANCE EMPLOYEES' ASSOCIATION] has created a spell . i m sure this platform and your friendship would help me create a wider network and awareness against the capitalist forces.
Hi Rob, I'm trying to find my way around UnionBook and found the TNC group. I do work for a TNC and am also a dues paying Wob (IWW). I figured I'd join as I am interested in reading about the struggles of other TNC workers.
If you can make it, it would be great to have you at our Research Institute's workshop on responses to TNCs on Nov. 8 at 4:30pm. For details see: http://www.pssp.org/eng/?p=150
Hi Rob,
My NUW work involves organising poultry industry (from farm to supermarket shelf); pharmaceutical; storage, warehousing and distribution; rubber, plastics and cable-making; food manufacturing; contract call centres; market and social research industry.
Two global companies I organise are Pfizer and DHL.
Regards,
Alex
My personal email is limwolsan@gmail.com and our institute's email is psspawm@gmail.com. I'm sure you're schedule will be very full while you are here but I hope we can meet up. In the meantime, let me tell you that we will be holding a small workshop on resistance to transnational corporations At 5pm on Nov. 8th. I will most more info on the transnational corporations group once it is ready. If you have time, please try to make it.
I'm working in the Victorian state office of the NTEU as Senior Industrial Officer, so I'm doing lots of collective bargaining, lots of coordination work, some casework and tons of advice. Being in a state office I'm a bit removed from the Union's international work - national office gets the formal engagement with EI, etc, and the branches carry the rank-and-file solidarity role.
But I DO get the occasional opportunity to participate in (mostly east Asia/pacific) forums, and of course to play a role in ensuring that visiting union and solidarity comrades get out to our branches, to meet both university staff and students.
The social network for trade unionists - a LabourStart project.

its been long since we communicated , how is your work progressing?
Hi Rob,
Thanks so much for your message. I'm just learning how to use this site but plan to be on here a lot more.
You must be busy in your position. Given the industries in WA it's so important to have strong international work taking place inside unions.
I actually resigned from the LHMU last year and am looking for a new job so I am without a union for the moment.
I've had a quick look at SIGTUR and will post a link to my facebook wall.
Let's keep in touch! :-)
Hi Rob
Nice to hear from you.
I believe you're still in Oz - presume your kids are now grown-up and independent, as are mine.
I think I just missed you in Seoul.
Interested in SIGTUR, so maybe our paths will cross again.
