Excellent in outlining the crisis but he sidesteps the labor theory of value in the process , which shows the nuts and bolts of how the capitalists rob the workers every minute of every hour we sell hour labor power to them. He offers no solutions , but Marx and the other great communists did.
They were NOT entirely correct about that solution meaning socialist revolution. As anything less than egalitarian communism maintains too many vestiges of capitalist exploitation. WE must account for why socialism in Russia and China, instead of advancing to communism actually led to capitalist restoration. This can only be done in the context of dialectical and historical materialism which enable us to see the contradictions in society and understand which are primary and secondary, and which are internal and external. the primary contradiction in socialism is between wage labor and egalitarian communism. The abolition of wage labor would enable the society to move to abolition of commodity production and production solely for human need. This is where socialism always fails. Both in Russia and China as their revolutions matured the difference in wages grew instead of contracting. This reflected a growing class differentiation and privileged status for a growing Red bourgeoisie. The ideological core of communism decayed with this algorithm. historical experience has shown that socialism can't be the transitory step to communism but that the abolition of the wage system must be integral early in the revolutionary process. That is why PLP , progressive Labor Party, which grew out of the old communist movement rejects socialism and has as its slogan Fight for Communism.
