No Violence and Discrimination against women’s
On the occasion of the World Day for Decent Work (WDDW) on 7 October. Pakistan Labour Federation (PLF) Organize one Day National Seminar on the Role of Trade Unions to stop the violence and Discrimination against women’s with the collaboration of World Asian Workers Organization (WAWO) at 2 .00.O Clock. While addressing the Seminar Haji Muhammad Saeed Arian Founder/Secretary General said that It is a day for mobilization for Trade Unions across the Globe, he said that Every year there are hundreds of activities in many countries. He said that (PLF) fights for Equality and demanded the right to work free from discrimination on the grounds of sex, race and disability. He said that (PLF) is providing practical support to all Trade Unionists who face persecution, through (PLF) Legal Aids Center In particular, (PLF) highlighting the discrimination faced by working Women’s and to ensure a Gender dimension to everything. Mrs Atia Saleem Chairperson Said that Now a Days the world facing the biggest employment crisis since the great depression, there are few reasons to celebrate. the Global financial crisis, an extra 50 million working people are struggling to survive on less than $1.25 a day. And with 75 million young people out of Job. Waheed Ahmad Ch Advocate Legal Advisor (PLF) (WAWO) said that Nearly everyone agrees that a Decent Job is the best way to get someone out of Poverty, but Governments are simply not doing enough to address the scale of the crisis. He said that It does so by assessing the efforts of the Government against key elements of the Decent Work Agenda of the (ILO).He said we as Trade Union Representatives should promoting rights at work, social protection and social dialogue, and to secure decent jobs. He is demanding to Developed Countries to Establish a pilot programme to help developing countries to improve their working Condition and to establish a social Tripartite dialogue in fragile states aiming to provide decent work to reduce the risk of social unrest. Mrs Bushra Malik said that we should Develop a challenge fund or programme of work aiming to strengthen the capacity of Trade Union in the developing world with a particular emphasis on representing and empowering women, youth, and workers in the informal economy.
