(PLF) Solidarty Support to the Workers of General Motor Colombia

(PLF) Demanded to the General Motors Colombia to  Resolve situation of workers dismissed for occupational injuries


on behalf of the Executive Board of Pakistan Labour Federation (PLF) we are demanding the Management of the General Motors  Colombia to respect the Basic  Rights of the Freedom of Association of workers and stop the victimization and  dismissal of the Workers and to take solid measures to avoid the occupational injuries and accidents at GM; and come to an agreement with Their Association on Safety. we  therefore Urge Mr. Dan Akerson, as CEO of General Motors,  to solve this problem. and safe the workers from  injury and disability of workers We also urge Mr. Peter McKinley, to  maintain a permanent peaceful occupation and have seen their determination to bring visibility to the injustice that they are facing, a situation that you, in representing the U.S. Government are in a position to change. please make assure that  they are not losing their houses and their  children can visit the hospital when they get hurt and restore their medical care.
we also appeal to  Mr. Rafael Pardo Rueda,  Labor Minister of Colombia, to recognized his responsibility to defend and protect the rights of Colombian workers. and issue order to the Management of  General Motors Colombia to stop the  illegal dismissals of injured and disabled workers, we urge you to do everything in your power to hold corporations accountable to their workers, in this case General Motors, this is after all, part of the commitment made in the Labor Action Plan of the Colombia Free Trade Agreement.
