Eric:
In the course of a private exchange a labour-oriented cyber specialist says that UB gets 2,600 visitors per day. Is this true? And how does it relate to the 100,000 figure that I seem to recall being mentioned by you, as well as to the 1,000,000 campaign you are promoting?
I would not myself be worried if the 2,600 per day figure was true. Any new social movement begins with one or ten. But I would like to see a breakdown of UB statistics, including trends.
Could you also, incidentally, provide such statistics for visits to group sites and individual bloggers?
For your information, I have just emailed a leading figure in international labour studies, asking him to visit and then invite others in his networks to visit and join.

Comment by peter waterman on December 10, 2010 at 21:47 Well, Eric, could we not, in this case, aim first at 10,000 signed-up people? And then build up to, say, 100,000 before talking about l,000,000?
And would there be any harm in applying to UB the kind of software that reveals more detailed statistics, on the basis of which, for example, campaigning for more members could be based?
Comment by Eric Lee on December 10, 2010 at 20:27 I don't know how many visits UB gets per day - nor do I care. There are currently just over 2,640 signed-up, confirmed members. That's the number, and the only number, that matters in a social network.
