Obama advises students to patiently work in silence as Wall Street profits from wars and the rest of our problems...
President Barack Obama gave the commencement address to the graduating class of the Ohio State University at Ohio Stadium on May 5, 2013 in Columbus, Ohio.
"I dare you, Class of 2013, to do better. I dare you to do better," Obama said.
Obama also urged the students to "reject these…

Several groups are discussing coming together here in the United States around some very basic problems intending to work together on activities in the streets and at the ballot box. These are some of the points for united action being discussed:
1. End these dirty wars and use the “peace dividends” to fund human needs.
2. Full employment; make the president and Congress legislatively responsible for attaining and maintaining full employment.
3. Real health…

Joel Wendland keeps telling us that the Republicans are backed by the wealthy. Is this supposed to be some kind of big surprise? What about Obama's wealthy Wall Street backers?
A quarter-million workers in Washington on Saturday for the One Nation march. This would be a good time for labor to tell Republicans and Democrats to take a hike. Organize a labor party.
By the way, Joel Wendland refuses to publish my comments on his blogs.

What gives here with these blog posts from Joel Wendland... we all know the Republicans are no good for working people but when are his blog posts that are usually reprints from the CPUSA newspaper which is a mouthpiece supporting Obama and the Democrats going to do what Communist Party newspapers are supposed to do; provide an analysis of those in power right now?
I can appreciate Joel Wendland publishing articles informing working people about the threat Republicans pose;…

For some reason my comment wouldn't post to the original blog posting... so here it is:
We as working people are always on a quest, and struggle, for a living wage.
We need to consider why we haven't been able to solve this problem
Every single job--- no exceptions--- should pay the worker doing that job a real living wage.
The minimum wage should be established in every country by statute requiring a government agency to compile…

What the United Steelworkers Union and the recent blog post by Joel Wendland to UnionBook on, "The importance of the Steelworkers' recent steps" fail to note is that it is foreign capital--- mainly U.S. and European Union, using China as a front for cheap labor and as a source of cheap raw materials and natural resources which has created all these problems in the first place--- not to mention the fact that the current and immediate past Chinese governments have…

Leonard Peltier is 66 years old today. He sits behind prison bars the victim of a racist FBI frame-up. Barack Obama should have freed Leonard Peltier two years ago.

Letter writer tells it like it is; published in Minneapolis Star-Tribune on September 7, 2010:
WAR IN IRAQ
Page not turned enough by President Obama
"Time to turn the page in Iraq," says President Obama.
Combat troops are withdrawn.
However, there are still 56,000 U.S. troops in Iraq. These noncombat troops will wear uniforms and presumably will carry weapons.
As of July, there were 110,000 contractors paid by the United States, and the…
