A leader of metal union in Korea burned himself to resist against government and police attack

Washington Workers' Comp Insurance Reform, Initiative 1082 (2010)

A crisis looms in the state of Washington, with the proposed amendment to publicly-operated workers compensation. Initiative 1082, about to be voted on Nov 2nd, 2010, will privatize workers compensation insurance.



The initiative is largely funded by those who will profit the most from it: Building Industry Association of Washington, Liberty Mutual, Big I, The Hartford Financial Services Group, and Farmers Insurance Services .

Creative Commons and Open Source Are Important For Unions

Recent announcement by the CBC took me by surprise: the CBC, our national broadcaster who works on taxpayer budget, has declared that due to "pressure from union" it will no longer utilize any open source or Creative Commons licensed material.
