Workers should not pay the costs of the crises!
Pakistan Labour Federation (PLF)
Millions of workers around the world who were pushed even further into poverty and marginalization due to the Economical Crisis, however, this “recovery” is meaningless. Together with the Food, Climate, and Fuel Crises, the Economic Crisis led to massive job and wage losses, cut-backs in the provision of Basic Human /Fundamental rights to Healthcare, Education, Housing, Water, Electricity, and…

I am shocked to learn that Matteo Parlati, a leading member of the FIOM-CGIL trade union and a Ferrari Auto shop steward, has been denounced for resistance to police officers and for 'moral responsibility' during an anti-fascist demonstration in Modena last October. Matteo Parlati is not guilty as photos and videos clearly showed. I ask you to clear Matteo Parlati of all the accusations.
An early action will be highly appreciated
with regards

Heard Jim Munro talk to a small group of us about the local unwaged workers struggles, their march from Camp Road Broadmeadows to Proletarian Hall in Brunswick; occupations to resist bailiff, police and landlord abuses; chalking the street corners to get others to show up in solidarity with homeless, the unemployed groups eviction from Trades Hall, the clashes with Fascists in Parkville. They did not suffer…

When JIM DOYLE was born in Rockhampton, Queensland on 13th July, 1918, the AWU was only 32 years young. He was the son of a transport carrier who used teams of horses to haul the heavy, valuable loads from outback Queensland to the respective shipping terminals.
At a very young age his family moved to Longreach where he was educated. When he left school he picked up work in ‘outback’ Queensland in the Longreach, Barcaldine, Blackhall and Winton regions as a…

Labour journalist, Terry Bell, reports 'consternation' around a wave of Communist identification (in South Africa and internationally) in the national labour movement. I regret I am unaware of such. The only critical response that has so far reached me has been that of journalists/commentators like Bell and RW Johnson. I am wondering whether the critical and independent Left in South Africa is not preserving radio/internet silence for some diplomatic reasons that…

Inspired by the comrades from spain (valencia: http://unidxsporunacausacomun.blogspot.com/), London, US and elsewhere we have felt the need to prepare a positive open latter to work on, discuss, adopt, and declare towards labour and social justice activists; considering the general strike wave, planed global strikes, 1M, 15M, and other global and regional actions and gatherings like 24-26 February…

No particular friend of the South African Left and trade unions, this piece by Johnson is likely to be ignored, dismissed or condemned by the former. For better or worse, however, one has to recognise that the piece is largely to the point and the questions entirely reasonable.
The WFTU, which now makes great play of its modernity, its democratic nature and openness, will have to be open about its funding - and who exactly its members are, and what…
