AICCTU solidarity with maruti - suzuki workers.

On 17 August, thousands of workers from unions in the Manesar-Gurgaon-Dharuhere region protested the sacking of the Maruti workers and demanded their reinstatement. AICCTU and AISA activists from Delhi also joined them.

Sir,

i was trying to post a very important link to a relevant news as "status" but they don't take "long" link and prompted for shortening which i do not know how to do, so please allow me to post here the link -- i am extremely sorry for this roundabout way but ... please do not mind -- the link is: http://www.thehindu.com/todays-paper/tp-national/tp-newdelhi/third-degree-torture-used-on-maruti-workers-rights-body/article3937396.ece

Of course I can. Please let me know what you want to know and what I can do. It is my most pleasure to build solidarity for the workers. I'm working in a bank union, but I'm also the international coordinator for a electronics union in Taiwan.

Wow, your page looks so nice!  I am still having trouble to get around and where to post etc etc on union book...

Also, Thank you for the posts.  what are the comrades at Pyung hwa in India making?

By now you have heard that the subcontracted workers in Hyundai Ulsan Plant-factory have ended the sit-in and negotiations are continuing...

Many of the hyundai and kia workers in other areas of the world sent solidarity messages to the subcontracted workers.  They will start work on Monday, and we have to be careful that nothing bad happens .... (I'm sure the company would be only too happy to incite something against the workers who led the strike)

Dear Comrade,

Here is the explanation of what IUF means;
The International Union of Food, Agricultural, Hotel, Restaurant, Catering, Tobacco and Allied Workers' Associations (IUF) is an international federation of trade unions representing workers employed in agriculture and plantations; the preparation and manufacture of food and beverages; hotels, restaurants and catering services; all stages of tobacco processing. The IUF is composed of 386 affiliated organizations in 124 countries representing a combined membership of around 2,6 million.

yours in solidarity,
Burcu
