Labourers Union in B.C. (Canada)
I've been commissioned to write a history of the Labourers' Union (LIUNA) in B.C. for their Local 1611's 75th anniversary in 2012. I thought I would post this on the off chance that someone in the group might know something of interest or know of a source on the subject, especially its early years. At one time there were four locals. I work for 1611 as a "strategic researcher", but I have a free hand with this.

- My job is principally to research companies targeted for organising as well as some research for bargaining in non-construction sectors. Another part of my job is to identify and track potential target companies. I also monitor the main "rat union", CLAC (the Christian Labour Association of Canada). In addition, I do some direct organising of non-union companies. My photo is me in spirit at a recent teachers rally in Northwest England.
