"Along with the rule of law and private property rights, the sanctity of contracts is considered fundamental to 'economic freedom.'  Yet certain kinds of contracts, namely the collective bargaining agreements of U.S. public sector workers, are now starting to be regarded as dispensable...

"These assaults on the contract rights of public workers are said to be…

No, my brother, but I will. I am also spreading the word about their violations of the most basic of human rights. Is their a labor friendly source for tea? I think that will be my substitute if I can find a producer that doesn't exploit its workers!

Hey Lew, sorry to reply just now... I've set the profile some weeks ago but had no time since then to actually get around it.

Is the question still actual? The translation is rather bad and ridicules the content. Let me know if you still need it and I will send you this text properly translated.

Best,
Boyan

Hey,

Sounds like you are doing some great work! These days I am back at wrk with AFSCME DC 1707 (as a Staff Rep), a wonderfully progressive bunch I worked for some years ago; at the time we made our home in Boerum Hill, a great place. Left there as my wife and I moved out of the city for a few years, during which time I worked for the NYS Public Employees Fed and then briefly for 1199. We moved back to the People's Republic of Brooklyn this January, but --what with the move and all---now in Bensonhurst, ironically where I was raised. These days a nicely mixed area, many Asian people, Middle Eastern, South Asian, Orthodox Jewish folks, etc along with the original Italian-Americans, too. Its fine but we lok fwd to eventually getting back downtown. PLaces like DUMBO, anything near Bklyn Hts, etc have all gotten horrifically expensive, but as always the closer to Manhattan, the better.

Anyhow, if there's room for any kind of solidarity efforts via culture or just plain old unionism, let's do it! My duet the Flames of Discontent played this summer for the RWDSU convention and enjoy performing for all progressive labor and other social justice events. Check us out at www.flamesofdiscontent.org

peace,
jp

thank you to add me as your friend...
colombia is the first antiworkers country and second is my country the filipino people suffer and also victims of killings/kidnapping/torturing/disappearance of union leaders, organizers in (community and even youth student), in southern tagalog region it have 183 victims of extra judicial killings. all of them are unjustice under the facist regime of macapagal arroyo and puppet government.
