Democracy vs. Plutocracy and the Catfood Commission’s “Milk Cow With 310 Million Tits”

As someone who came from the underclass, this is not a new fight for me and the other 38 million Americans struggling to survive below the antiquated federal poverty guidelines. It is a bit of a shock for many of the formerly middle class that are nouveau pauvre who are now “feeling the love” that those of us who have struggled with poverty for most (if not all) of our lives have received.

Here’s how those of us from poverty who have…

Agreed... I am sure we all have different ways of making positive changes in our society, it is important to know that there are others out there making a real effort. Thanks for your friendship

One more thing Jacqueline. I want to tell you a little story about why I am who I am. My grandparents on my father's side came over from Podolsk in Russia in 1908. They were a dirt poor Jewish family escaping pestilence and persecution at the hands of the Czar's Kossacks. They settled in the south Bronx, the poorest community in in New York City ,then, as it is now. My grandfather had great sympathies with the Russian Revolution and when the bank foreclosed on his home in the desperate days of the Great depression, he did not despair. he fought back. After my parents realized I was determined to be a revolutionary communist in the late 1960's the stories they hid during the dark days of McCarthyism were finally revealed to me. How the working class community in the South Bronx was mobilized by the communists to fight evictions and foreclosure. Dozens would take the furniture back into apartments after the police enforced eviction proceedings. When the cops returned in force hundreds came out into the streets and dared them to try to re-evict. Sometimes there were pitched battles. The old Communist Party lead all those struggles. My father's older sister, Frances, joined the Communist party in those days and remained a member until her death. I disagreed with her revisionist politics, but nonetheless, they recruited hundreds of party members out of such struggles. These struggles were NEVER led by the Trostskyists. Point made , case closed.

Thank you Jacqueline. I read some of the article. I see you as a spunky working class fighter with a big heart. But I have to tell you that Trotskyist parties will never lead any mass movement and few significant struggles of workers. They are for the most part purely agitational in their approach as was Trotsky. To build a revolution you have to get your hands dirty in the class struggle. Base building nd leading struggles and building the revolutionary apparatus from the advanced workers in these struggles who see the limitations of reform and having a burning desire for egalitarian communism revolution. Marx did not merely write books , pamphlets, and give speeches he organized and built a base for his methodology and ideas. Trotsky never successfully organized any struggle. A fiery speaker but no ability to organize. That is why his faction lost in the CPSU. You are wasting your valuable time with the Troskyist wannabees. I respect you and hate to see good talent throwing in their lot with a poor substitute for a revolutionary party. Take care and keep your chin up.
