We have officially entered new the epoch of Fascism

Posted on December 16, 2011 at 1:17 0 Comments

The Bill of Rights has been suspended fro the working class movement. In ten years time we have moved from bourgeois "democracy" to open-ended fascist rule. All perfectly legal so the Congress and Supreme Court say.   This proves that workers power can not be achieved by legal means . That the capitalist system must be smashed by workers revolution. Oops , speaking the truth may define me by the capitalist state to be a terrorist. Although I have never caused terror in any way as an…

I spent the last 3 days watching the Wisconsin Rally.  We have them this week in Michigan.  Then I found this in the 21st century group.  It just fits our state governor new law to fix the "crisis".

They hang the man and flog the woman

That steal the goose from off the common,

But let the greater villain loose

That steals the common from the goose.

(English folk poem, circa 1764)

Thanks for your comment. I agree, of course. I also wanted to put out something hopeful however, because I think the moment is ripe with possibility. I also think it is worth taking a moment to recognize what chance is happening, and how much power people in Egypt have already developed.

Hello Mr. Ira Wechsler,
Thank you for your comment re: the Hyundai workers struggle and the realities of the UAW in the U.S. I wonder if you have written anything critiquing the UAW and/or the the current state of the U.S. movement more broadly. I would be very interested to see it, if you had. I would also love to hear more about your work in 1199. Your introduction mentions struggles against racist firings- I would love to hear in detail about how 1199/SEIU understands/confronts racism, given that it is as a structure of oppress integrally embedded in capitalism.

Hi,
Please log onto my new documentary website, check out the 2 minute trailer and buy the DVD: www.lockedout2010.org It's a David and Goliath story of how 560 miners in the desert town of Boron, California faced off against their employer, Rio Tinto, a giant multinational corporation, and won a decent contract, after being locked out of work for 107 days and replaced by scabs.

Hello, Ira: Part of my family mythology was that my mom, who is now 96, was working at Long Island Jewish Hospital as a bookkeeper. She worked to get Local 1199 into the hospital -- in the early '60s (?) When she tried to join the union, she was told she couldn't since she was administrative personnel. I think she knew Leon Davis.

1199 was one of the early unions to pass a resolution to support the Coke Campaign.

dear ora, beying red and jew is a long tradition, of bouth by the way. the fight in the negev contineues despite the many distrction yet to come for sure, thought it is not the workers who fight there but more nomads and desert em what you might call pesants, but dont be desapointed, they are nice people overall and i was there to fight the evictions more than one time :) as about the zionists they do what every capatilist state do ... rase the banner of nationalism when it is needed to fight the others and lower it down as it needs to sheare the profits... in any case, solidarety from the buttle hills of jerusalem ! and you will make usa ll here a huge favor by making a revolution in the united states :)

jcqueline you pointed to an article describing a forum being organized to expose racist killer fires that were the result of criminal negligience by the capitalists in Detroit. Nothing wrong with that. What will the follow-up to that forum be? A mass march against the powers that be accusing them of murder? That would be a start. How about using that march as a springboard to a sit-in at the Detroit City Council to disrupt their contempt for the working class? that would be a sign of struggle. Marches are used to inform and as an energizer for local organizing. But at a certain point people have to advance the struggle to greater class antagonism like a sit-in or taking over the offices of some racist real estate developer etc. Of course these actions would be dependent on how successful struggle with members of the community-based organization would be. My point is forums are a good tactic at times but they re simply educational if they do not lead to sharpen class struggle. I meant no disrespect to you and I was careful NOT to call this group Troskyite but Trotskyist in deference to you. I am making a political point not trying assasinate anybody's character
or denigrate a good discussion into childish name-calling. Please accept my apologies my motives are honorable . In any case I will let sleeping dogs lie and move on, since you seem very committed to
Trotskyist ideology.
