Herbert Pimlott said… The following is what I sent to Debbie Chapman since she just joined Unionbook. It is the individual groups that are really useful, I think, that people make use of.
"Last year at the LabourStart conference in Hamilton, Eric Lee was talking about whether or not they would have to shut Unionbook down. I won't go into the history of its formation, but basically FB people kicked them off several times because they 'had too many friends' - they were trying to help people get together and organize and so on. The groups themselves that you can become a member of, might be useful ones to start talking with. Actually, perhaps we should start a broad university teachers group, contract and full-time, to discuss issues outside of our individual bargaining units. I will share this comment with Garry, too."
So, Garry, perhaps we should start a union prof group?!
