We need the following kinds of help right now:
1. New members. Invite your friends and fellow union members to join. Publicize UnionBook within your workplace and your union.
2. New content. You can help make UnionBook a rich and interesting place. Consider these options:
Remember that if you want people to see any of these, you have to indicate they are either 'public' or for 'logged in members'.
3. New languages. We need your help to create UnionBook in languages other than English. Please join the Internationalization Group for more information.
4. Speak tech? UnionBook is open source software, running on a LAMP platform. If you know PHP and are willing to help, join our Techies Group for more information.

I've probably got the wrong section of the site to ask these two questions but here goes. Firstly, which is the best/better web browser to view this site as I am having problems in IE6 with the display of my Unionbook "home page". The "footer" banner appears to be overlaying the text under the "spotlight" section which includes links to this page. Secondly, I am correct in believing that the wire facility works in the same way as Twitter and in fact entries on "the wire" can be set up to automatically appear on Twitter. As you can see from these questions I am a little bit of a social netwroking novice.

Love the site and great job getting it started. I recntly started a group but my image won't upload. It's in a PDF format. I'm not a tech but that's all I got. What should I do?

Oscar - you could try using zamzar.com to convert the PDF to Word format. I would expect your image to be converted to a more conventional picture format within the Word document. You should then be able to copy and paste the image from Word into an image editor (such as Microsoft Photo Editor) and save it as a JPG, GIF or whatever. Once saved in a conventional image format you shouldn't have any problems uploading it.

Excellent-Union book is a great idea-I live in Leeds, West Yorkshire and I am now retired but still very active and want to help get UnionBook off the ground. Are there any leaflets advertising Union book as a PDF I could print out and circulate at meetings? I am not IT literate or media design savvy to do it myself.

I want to share a link to a You Tube video by adding it to a wire post, as I see others have done. i can't figure out how to do it; can you help me? - Joe Digman

UNITES Professionals, India is popularizing unionbook as way of communication for
Indian Unions and it members instead of commercial websites such as Facebook which
ban you if you post something against advertisers. This has been covered by
Indian News Papers too.

I set up the new group, SEIUer Treatment Plan to be public, but when I log off and then click on the UnionBook home page link to the group (which does show there) it goes to the group home page and then it shows no files or pages or discussions there, despite a lot of material I have put in.
Is this a glitch?
