I managed to install my workplace software at home on Linux. In union computing I am volunteering on the IWW's Internet work.

Quick note to geeks: I've been using various apps/gadgets in iFrames but have had a really hard time finding a decent database. (ie to work in with Google docs and spreadsheets and Delicious for CMS etc). If you're in the same boat -- needing a rapid development tool for online apps -- have a look at Zoho. Really impressed so far. Doing online hazard registers and accident reporting for H&S. By far the easiest and fastest option for development I've looked at. Any of you had experience with it?

I have been programming computers since the 1970's. At least now I am being paid at work to program.

This is a bit of good news - Ning will soon allow people to sign up using their existing Facebook, Yahoo or Google accounts. This will do much to get rid of the problem of 'I have too many passwords and logins to remember'.
