For all rank and file workers, local reps and shop stewards, whether public or private sector, to communicate and look at ways of building a strong rank and file movement in the UK.
Background
Following the biggest show of public sector strength for years on November 30th, a number of public sector union bureaucrats are already getting ready to sell us out. Recent unofficial actions by striking electricians, however, are showing the way forward for the rest of us. It's vital that we follow their example and build a wide rank and file movement capable of taking the initiative and controlling all industrial action from below rather than passively accepting the treachery of leaders.

Spineless!
The UNISON Local Government Service Group Executive has reputedly voted by 24 votes to 10 to endorse the proposed Agreement, the Higher Education Service Group Executive voting likewise by 8 votes to 5. This would appear to mean that UNISON is accepting the agreement which UNITE rejected yesterday.
Separately the Health Service Group Executive voted to ballot members on the offer to them, and will meet next week to agree their recommendation to members in that ballot.
If that's not good enough reason for building a strong rank and file movement, I don't know what is.
Nice one Geoff. With increasing unemployment, it's also vital that unemployed workers are involved with the wider workers' movement.
Cheers fella. I had a look round the groups on here but couldn't see anything like it. But at the current time, I reckon the need to build a strong workers movement from below is even more pressing than usual.
