What exactly are you looking for? Do you need some statistics, or some history? Let me know and I will try to help.

Hi Jacob

have you tried the Trade union congress website  http://www.tuc.org.uk/index.cfm  at one time they used to have a piece for speaking to school children but the website does have issues that we are all facing it also has problems facing trade unionists away from England too. Hope this helps

sally

thank's.

i am looking for issus that unionist face.

for example -one of the problems that i face when i talk with young workers is that they don't see thier work place as a work place for long time and therefore they don't want to invest the time and try do orgnaize it.

i need more exemples, mainly from europe, for that kind of issues.

I would contact Youth Officers in Unite the union, Unison, or you could also send me more details and I'll contact the United Federation of Danish workers here in Denmark; this union (the largest in Denmark) does a lot of youth work and employs a youth officer.

Hi. The following website may be of help http://www.history.org.uk/resources/primary_news_1028.html It contains a link to http://www.ebctuc.co.uk/ which is a TUC website that is to be officially launched in the near future with resources and lesson plans for teachers mainly in secondary schools.

Hi Jacob.

The CWU has a Youth section for members up to the age of 30, and a dedicated website which you might find interesting or helpful.     http://www.cwuyouth.org

I'm sure other unions may have something similar, but hope this helps.

thak you all for your good, serius and fast answers.

the seminar is over. it was (i think) a good experiens for the participents. the dilemas we choes to deal with were mainly the situation in the technical schools and how to unionis the apprentices and generaly how to unionis youth.

we also disscused a bit about the "rent a men" companies and about education for being a member in a trade union.

thank's again

What we have found is that it it is really important just to start small, raise the questions about work, and find out their issues.
Getting a couple to start a facebook group was useful. The key was helping young people see themselves as a member of a collective first rather than an individual, and that involving others at work might be the beginning.   The New Zealand Unite site a href="http://www.unite.org.nz/%3E" target="_blank">http://www.unite.org.nz/>; has information aimed at Young people that may be of use.
