A Suggestion: Most Unions have websites, though in the States they seem a bit static and not very flexible. One thing they usually have is a "contact us" button. My Union now is the IWW, and it has its own Facebook page as well as a group here. I've mentioned Union Book to fellow Wobblies, and am going to post a notice on the FB page, also. My old Union is the IAM (Machinists) and their website is not as interactive, but I'm going to give it a shot. If only one person picks up on it, that's to the good, right? Solidarity.

Apart from individual initiative, UNIONBOOK can ask all the existing members to provide five email addresses and Union Book can invite them directly to join Union Book. The email invite may contain detail about the source of email id information, so as to assure the recipient that the invitation mail is not a SPAM. On my part I provide herein below FIVE email addresses.

October 6th.
I moderate 5 Yahoo egroups for transport workers in the UK, about 600+ members, and so today I sent around information about UnionBook and suggested that they take a look at the site and join.

The email I've sent round introduces UnionBook like this:
UnionBook is not about posting photos (but you can do that on UnionBook) or playing Scrabble with friends (you can’t do that on UnionBook) but sharing information and being stronger by linking up with other trade unionists
Thanks,
Rachel.
Eric - maybe you could send us all an email which we can forward on? The email could explain what LabourStart and UnionBook are all about. One problem for some trade union reps and members is that they can't access the internet at work or can only access certain websites.

I've forwarded your email What's missing to one person so far (my partner a Unison Rep) and I'm about to forward it to our branch administrator so that it can go to our committee and focus groups in Aberdeen University branch of the University and College Union (formerly AUT and NATFHE) in the UK.
