Marxism Class: Communist Manifesto
Saturday, June 16, 2pm to 5pm
4802 N. Broadway #202 (Red Line – Lawrence Stop) Directions Info: 773-920-7590
Want to study how to make real change? Then join us for a special in-depth, three hour class on the Communist Manifesto. Written by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels in 1848, the Communist Manifesto gives workers an important tool in understanding the capitalist system and why it can and will be replaced by Socialism.
You can read the Communist Manifesto before class online. We will be covering chapters one and two in two sessions with a short break between sessions. Reading before class is helpful but not necessary. The class will be conducted in an informal discussion based style. Reading copies will be available at the class.
Class Schedule 2 - 330 pm: Chapter 1 345 - 5 pm: Chapter 2
The last lines of the Manifesto: "Let the ruling classes tremble at a Communistic revolution. The proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains. They have a world to win."
$5 Donation Requested. No one turned away for lack of funds.

Please help IVAW tell the real story of our historic action at the NATO summit by watching and share widely, Democracy Now's excellent coverage of the event.

If you haven't done it yet, don't forget to email General Campbell tell him to stand for service members right to heal and to hold a safety stand down at Ft Hood to inform solders about his own policies MEDCEN 01 and SURG 01 that is not being upheld.

There are still dozens of people held in jail in Chicago after the NATO protests.  In addition, the police bloodied upwards of 90 people on Sunday, according to the National Lawyers Guild's Sarah Gelsamino.

For all the great work that the National Lawyers Guild does, raising bail is not something that they can legally do for their clients.  That is up to individuals and organizations not legally representing the imprisoned.
An ad hoc group of CANG8 activists has announced a fundraiser at:
Carey's Lounge, 2251 W. Devon Avenue, Sunday night beginning at 8 PM Suggested donation:  $10 - no one turned away for inability to pay
An account has been set up with Wepay.  To donate, go to: http://www.wepay.com/donations/nato-arrestee-bail-fund
All funds raised will go directly to those whom the Guild is able to identify as people who, as friends and family members, are trying to raise bail funds for their loved ones.

Yesterday the police clubbed peaceful protesters.  We shouldn't have to put up with that.  We need to train for our mutual defense.  Contact Brother Joe for further information.
