Don't let the USA Mission in East Timor get away with sacking a unionist and denying his rights to join and to pursue a grievance. Support him and his union, the General Workers Union of East Timor (Timor-Leste).

Please I once again urge all my labor brother and sisters here to circulate these petitions. This movement aroudn the daycare struggle in Israel has great potential to unite Jewish and Arab Palestinian workers.Thank you.

To clarify, many of my Fellow Workers identify as "anarcho-communist." My wariness is well justified, but my instinct toward fighting common enemies is strong. Common endeavors will be accomplished in the spirit of Solidarity.

Thank you Gordon. From what I remember two of best known Wobblies were Big Bill Heywood and Elizabeth Gurley Flynn. They both joined the C.P. after the Russian Revolution. If Joe Hill had lived to see the October Revolution he would have become a communist too.

For union workers, and for the unity of those both Palestinian and Israeli, I will sign it and send to others. Solidarity should transcend all else.

I am posting a petition being circulated in Israel in support of Palestinian and Jewish day care workers. Please copy it and circulate it in your union, workplace, and community.

We Support the Struggle of Jewish and Palestinian Daycare Workers in Israel

The "family" daycare workers in Israel are paid less than $1000 a month for a 90 hour work-week, and their exploitative employers - contractors working for the Israeli Ministry of industry and Commerce - make enormous profits off their backs, while not paying even minimal benefits. They have formed a union in 2008, and are now fighting for living wages, full benefits, and direct employment by the Ministry rather than by contractors.

We workers and students from all around the world, support the daycare workers' struggle and sign here in solidarity with them:

Name Organization Location Signature

This is one of the few struggles now in Israel that has the potential of uniting Jewish and Palestinian workers, who are both victimized in this daycare industry. I implore you to vigorously circulate this. I will post the mailing address tomorrow.

Got it. I apologize for implying that you were. So, let's get back to the South African stuff...
