I like your comment, Joseph. A high minimum wage is what people need to survive! And it means workers are getting a larger share of the wealth that they are creating and thus the profiteers are stealing less. As to earlier comments: running a socialist electoral campaign in no way precludes grass-roots and labor organizing and talking about the need for revolution. In fact, if done right, it's a big boost to just these things.

'm looking for ways to arrange labor/community relationships so at least we have the old American Native respect for each other and life in total.  You know, like a brave on a hunt seldom went home without plenty for his family.  Unlike today's brave workers who often receive too little for their efforts in aiding the community increase production.  I'm just looking for a decent way to explain a high minimum wage.

The money wasted on an election campaign could be used to build a revolutionary communist press. It could pay for more bullhorns and pay for impoverished third world communists to attend organizing conferences.

Yes you are furthering the falsehood that capitalism can be replaced without mass violence just by voting.  You are furthering the belief we have a democracy for workers. You are furthering the falsehood that organizing class struggle in the workplace and community is secondary to election campaigns.

Respectfully disagree Ira.  There's nothing right-wing about the Durham/Lopez campaign.

Frankly socialism is ananthema to med. It retains the capitalist wage system and is a path that will inevitably lead to restoration of market capitalism.  I am an egalitarian communist. The monetary system must be abolished and society from the get go must be organized on from each according to commitment to each according to need. Communism is the solution historical materialism shows socialism was an incorrect concept .  Dogmatists still believe in socialism.  Dialectical materialists understand revolutionary theory must be amended to reflect practice and historical experience. Old obsolete theories must be discarded when scientific evaluation shows them to be flawed. Long live communism.  Down with right-wing thought and practice within the Left.

I want to be part of this campaign. Stephen Durham and Christina López are internationalists, defenders of unions, and have a pro-women's rights, anti-racism platform.

Here's an interview with Stephen Durham on Black Agenda Radio; they had a longer discussion but included this clip which covers a lot of the campaign's program:
