Learn about the growing national movement to win justice for Marissa Alexander, an African American mother from Florida who was sentenced to 20 years in prison for defending herself against her abusive husband, and about the case of CeCe McDonald, an African American transgender woman sentenced to 41 months in a men’s prison for the fatal stabbing of her attacker in Minneapolis. This Radical Women meeting will address the racism, sexism and transphobia of the legal system that women often discover is their worst enemy.
A refreshing supper will be served at 7pm (donation $8). Door admission free. All genders welcome.
